Our Eternal Soul (poem)

Our Eternal Soul

Who will know of your eternal soul

the few left behind

with only brevity of time

O soul of life and meaning

an existing collection of our being

is forever on its voyage of seeking

Soul does wander endlessly

cannot adhere to a place or time

a thwarting muse of yours and mine

Soul may not ever return

cannot shout or cry or learn

despite profound intensity of our yearn

O dear soul, you enrage me to no end

wishing to control your chaotic wend

rethinking your elusive immortality

O dear and precious soul without a vision

Cannot embrace thee with philosophy or wisdom

Faith is your only keeper and thus your seeker
